About us

The Pizzicato Foundation was established by Peter Klapkowski, whose early devotion to the violin as a student evolved into a lifelong commitment to the arts and classical music. Although his professional path took a different turn, his passion for classical music remains the cornerstone of the Foundation’s mission: to foster the development of the most promising young virtuosos.

At the heart of our foundation lies the belief that a musician’s maturity is deeply intertwined with the instrument they play.

By providing complimentary loans of high-quality violins, the Foundation helps these young prodigies develop their exceptional skills and refine their artistic maturity. The instrument and the player form a living partnership that also leaves a lasting mark on the instrument’s provenance. Supported by dedicated sponsors and partners, the Pizzicato Foundation is honored to assist these young artists in achieving their dreams.

Beyond our scholarship program, the Foundation offers bespoke consultancy for violin acquisition. We assist discerning musicians and collectors in finding instruments with specific acoustic qualities, as well as distinctive provenance and historical significance.
